Thinking about “reader response” and “interactive texts” — in relation to being an author of language textbooks. The textbooks accomplish what poems simply can not in terms of demands for reader involvement.
Resolution: to put TASKS, ACTIVITIES, and PROJECT SUGGESTIONS into my poems.

Just occurred to me that all these nifty quizzes people are making accomplish this kind of reader involvement fairly well. They don’t, however, progress to the stage of “Now make your own question.”
