Happened to me. Should have heeded the warning siren my brain was issuing. Alas, I did not, and as expected, the same thing was done to me. It is a good question, and totally relevant. but the correct answer should generally be “no.” Even if the person's former partner is a jerk. Even if there were a good reason. This is because of the rebound factor.
