This is beautiful. I like that you have only periodic homophonic subs.
I always liked those homophonic translations of Bollywood songs that people on youtube were doing a while back. However, I always found that the emphasis on how funny the lyrics sounded covered up some pretty awesome songs.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that the way you've done the subs in this really succeed in adding to, rather than detracting from, this gorgeous song.
Of course I did a homophonic translation of the whole song, so when I hear it, I hear it in a weird English. The first version had titles throughout; the song and images were both overwhelmed by them.
I think I meant for these titles to mimic the sort of echo one feels the first time one hears a song in another language, “hey that sort of sounds like…,” instead of a labored (tortured, really) complete translation.
