  1. The old Anatomy of Melancholy advice works for me: be not solitary, because that–for me, anyway–leads to a brown study, which is the antechamber to a blue funk. You can put on an overjoyed expression, exactly like an actor playing “joy,” and dance around. The body is the soul, as Wilde said. Singing and reckless automatic drawing help me. Joy is a skill, like writing. If you don't practice it, you lose it…but I have a feeling you do plenty of singing and dancing. I'm sure you know how to have a good time. And new love is just around the corner for you.–David
